Relive all the greatest moments in Rangers history through newspaper headlines of the time with this personalized Texas Rangers book. With coverage beginning in 1971, the year of the franchise’s last season as the Washington Senators before moving to Arlington, this fine piece of Texas Rangers memorabilia guides you through the decades, revisiting all the key moments from Arlington Stadium and Globe Life Park, right up until the present day, and also updated to include coverage of the delayed 2020 season, the Rangers’ first at the new Globe Life Field.
Beginners luck simply did not exist for the Washington Senators. After joining the Major Leagues as an expansion team in 1961, the team lost over 100 games in each of their first four seasons, and recorded losing seasons in ten of their eleven seasons in the capital. In 1971, the franchise moved to Texas, where they became the Rangers. But again, life started out hard; both the first two seasons in Arlington saw the Rangers lose over 100 games. Fans would have to wait until the 90s for some real progress. Two-time MVP Juan González led the Rangers to the playoffs in three seasons out of four between ’96 and ’99, but unfortunately the Rangers would lose all three series to the Yankees. Then came the greatest period in Rangers history: the 2010 and 2011 seasons, which saw them reach two consecutive World Series, defeating their old foe the Yankees along the way in the former.
