Reacquaint yourself with all the greatest moments in The Pack’s history through newspaper headlines of the time in this Green Bay Packers history book. With coverage beginning in 1936, the year of the franchise’s fourth NFL Championship, this wonderful personalised Packers gift guides you through the decades, revisiting all the key moments from Lambeau Field and the Milwaukee County Stadium, right up until the present day. Officially the most successful franchise in pro football history, the Green Bay Packers have won 13 league championships: 9 pre-merger NFL titles, and four Super Bowls, including the first two ever played.
Of their 24 Hall of Fame inductees, three men stand out as being most synonymous with the overall success of the Packers. The first, Earl “Curly” Lambeau, not only founded the team, but also played and managed them, leading them to 6 NFL titles, including three in a row between 1929 and 1931. If there was ever a sure-fire way to get a stadium named after you, Lambeau was certainly on the right track. Only one other man has coached a team to three consecutive league championships, and he too did it for the Packers: Vince Lombardi led his Green and Gold men to the NFL Championship in 1965, before guiding them to Super Bowls I and II in the ’66 and ’67 seasons. If there was ever a sure-fire way to get a championship trophy named after you, then Lombardi was certainly on the right track. After that 1967 Super Bowl win, the Packers only registered 5 winning seasons out of the next 24. But that all changed in 1992 with the signing of a quarterback who would go on to break numerous passing records and be named league MVP three times. In the 1996 season, Brett Favre would lead Green Bay to its first Super Bowl in 29 years, resulting in a 35-21 win over the Patriots.
