Do not pay for next day delivery!
After previously purchasing a book I was so impressed with the quality I decided to buy another one to gift my niece on her first birthday. I had ordered the book on a Wednesday at 6.30am paying the £9.98 delivery charge for next day delivery. The website clearly said orders placed before 11am are guaranteed next day delivery. It states that delivery dates are estimates until the checkout process is complete so after completing my location details it stated my delivery date would be the very next Thursday. As the party was on the Saturday after I thought this would be adequate time for it to arrive and proceeded with my purchase. I tried to contact the company on the Friday as I still hadn't received my item, I could not get through as they do not take calls past 12pm. I contacted the shipping company on the Saturday morning as tracking information was still unavailable who informed they had not received this item. On the monday i managed to get speaking with a customer advisor from in the book. I explained that the gift was no longer required as my confirmations had all informed delivery was to be on the Thursday and I had to purchase a replacement gift as it had not arrived on time. She explained that if I refuse delivery I would receive a full refund once they were in receipt of the item. After the phonecall, The customer advisor then called back to inform actually this was no longer the case and as a gesture she would refund the £6 postage when I expressed my confusion as I had paid £9.98 in postage, she explained she would only be refunding the next day charge and would still be charging the initial postage cost. She explained that on a separate section of their website it states that deliveries to Northern Ireland may incur a 1/2working day delay due to location so they were still within their policy and that I would not receive a refund. I then explained I ordered the item on Wednesday it was now the following Monday and i still was not in receipt of the item so could not fathom how this was within their policy. The customer advisor informed she had looked into my order and it was out for delivery to be delivered that same day so there was nothing she could do. I then contacted on Tuesday to inform I still was not in receipt of the item, after looking into it she informed it was lost in transit and she would then issue a full refund. Eventually I then received my refund for the item i still hadnt received. Then the following Thursday the item came via courier, the delivery driver was unaware of it being lost in transit or of any delay. I refused the delivery and will happily never order anything from this company again. Fantastic product but if anything goes wrong with your order the company will not accept any liability and you will endure one of the worst customer service experiences imaginable.
