The quality of the paper isn't great, I paid extra for the hardback but wasn't impressed. Only dresses available for the female character whereas my niece wears jeans mainly. There were a couple of grammatical errors where siblings were referred to each other as they not he or she. The gift box is a nice extra but perhaps a little pricey for a plain white box at £5. My total cost was £30 for a hardback personalised book and gift box including delivery. The kids liked it but I wouldn't purchase again as the quality wasn't what I'd expect for the cost.

For the child’s book that you have ordered, it does not specific to gender, which is why we do not ask for the gender of the child when personalising your book. As the book is gender neutral and therefore not aimed at a specific gender, we use the pronouns of they or their so that this book can be used for either a girl or a boy. We do also provide a flip through of the book, so you are able to read the story to make sure you are happy before placing an order.
The text and the contents of the book has been approved by a Linguistic Expert, who has confirmed that the book has been written correctly for a gender neutral book. In The Book has made the conscious decision to make sure our books are inclusive for everyone.
Your feedback has however been taken on board and passed to the relevant department.
As a gesture, we have applied a further 10% discount to your order, which has been refunded to you, which we hope will help towards rectify your dissatisfaction.

The older sibling was printed with no hair. After ordering the personalised siblings storybook roughly three weeks ago, I, alongside my son, was incredibly disappointed to find that the eldest sibling had been printed with no hair. This would have been fine if she did not have hair, of course, but she would have preferred a more accurate representation of herself that is incredibly difficult to find in any mainstream stores anyhow. Though disappointed, the customer care team were incredibly quick, helpful and apologetic on the phone and assured a fast delivery of a replacement. I would've liked the mention of a refund, however.
